Why I Built Cloud PDF App
Six months ago, I sat down to merge two PDF files before an important deadline. Every tool I found online wanted me to create an account first. Some charged after three uses. Others uploaded my documents to servers I knew nothing about.
I just wanted to merge two files. That's it.
So I built Cloud PDF App — a complete PDF toolkit that works the way it should. No sign-up. No limits. No uploading your private documents to someone else's server. Everything runs directly in your browser, on your device.
Six months later it has grown into 28 tools covering every PDF task I could think of — merging, splitting, compressing, converting, protecting, signing and more. All completely free. All without asking for your email address.

How It Works
Cloud PDF App is built with Next.js and React. All PDF processing happens client-side using open-source JavaScript libraries: pdf-lib for creating and manipulating PDFs, PDF.js for rendering and text extraction, jsPDF for generating new documents, mammoth.js for Word conversion, and xlsxfor Excel parsing. When you upload a file, it goes into your browser's memory — not to a server. The JavaScript runs locally, transforms the file, and hands the result back to you. The page itself is a static export served from a CDN; there is no application server processing your requests.
